The first weekend.

Omg! Sorry I totally forgot to tell you about the amazing weekend I had and how amazing the people I met were! I always should tell you that drinking here is not as cheap as people say it is....ugh

So we started Saturday...sorry back track, Friday we got together, took some pictures, had...ice cold sodas..and wandered into kaifaqu, bigger city outside of the city centre, I live in jinshitan. We went to a place called mr.beer and ordered food from a bakery next door, got pizza! Yummm this place was called euro bake. People had a hoot when I wore my spiderman mask from the ever so lovely Kaitlin Lovegrove! :p uhhhh it was. Little hard and embarassing to explain to my Adminstrative team who was also at this get together lol but it was all good, I met some Dutch buisnessmen as well, we had good laughs! German beers are probably almost as common, if not more common than Chinese beers here...the only American beers are Heineken, Budweiser, and corona...funny how technically two of those are not North American lol 

Anyways, pizzas and beers later, stumbles and bull pens later...we make it through these sketchy little alleys to a bar called the hideout...it is such a small bar, reminds me of New Orleans lol but was good, had a live guitarist, Ryan...something, my buddy Kyle and I were smashed and tried interviewing him for the music blog...he was also pretty smashed lol was good fun though lol 

We met a bunch of other "expats", in case I didn't tell you before, this term is given to forgieners who left their motherland and have Either moved elsewhere permanently or are travelling for their life. So lots of white folk around, I figured they were all teachers at maple leaf...boy was I wrong! Most I then were teachers at the American international school! Yaaaa an American international school! Where is that? Basically around the corner from mine!? New friends!!!!! Yes, one that became a closer friend than the others. Courtnay...I was playing pool, smashed and one do the teammates went to the washroom or WC as it is also called in china lol so I pointed at her and Brandon (an American teacher) asked one of them to pick up the slack and Courtnay jumped right in, beauty and all. I was making small talk, totally checking her out, trying to be smooth and funny, we laughed a little, flirted...well I didn't realize that she was flirting back but I was flirting a bit wig her, I think or I was just really smashed and saying non-sense which is probably more true lol

So when she was leaving, she asked about my fb, I told her she wouldn't be able to find me as I have a fake name and people get frustrated to find me so they just don't. Told her is id give her my number but then she replies that she would give me hers instead, I totally thought she was hosing me :p and we continued talking a but before we had to go, totally lied and told her I was 25 or 24 and she was like "really?" So flirted with her and she left with a bunch of people, thinking she was just being kind and what not, didn't think is see her again. The night continued, beer prices seemed to fluctuate, I totally got a free beer pint! Then cabbed home with the boys. Nothing but the echo of my cowboy boot heels clicking against the pavement behind me :p

大黑山 Big Black Mountain Hike (2014)

Smoggy day :( could be better but I have been trying to do this for far to long and I currently have the opportunity to do so. Seizing the day. Origin point jinshitan, qinggui to kaifaqu. Stopped in kaifaqu, heading to tong shi tai, it is the first stop of the smaller line that stems from kaifaqu station. When getting off the train in kaifaqu, walk to the railway to your right that has the next station sign pointing in the direction your train came from. Get on train. Get off the train and head down stairs, exit off the same way you entered the train. Once you punch out of the station, exit the right side of the building onto dongbei road, a short distance to your left you will see a curve I to the next street which is______ road, go down that road _____ a short distance ahead you will see a hard to notice bus stop, jump onto bus 4, take it till they kick you off. Five countries, Four Weeks Pt.6 "Koh Phi Phi-Bangkok"

Koh Phi Phi was indeed a beautiful island, right from the moment we stepped off  the boat  till the second we got back on to leave. Again, everyone seems to be asking for a dollar here, a dollar there. It becomes regular yet annoying. The island itself is very small but so incredibly easy to get lost on. Every back alley takes you to the same main bays but how far down the bays you are is the tricky part of figuring out your location. We stayed at a shady looking guesthouse called “Oasis Guesthouse” which was not too expensive but certainly didn’t seem all that secure considering the windows were just glass panes and there seemed to be a gecko or two which were always running around.
