February 2015
Well it's official, the flight to Singapore is booked for lamding there from dalian January 31st. The flight home is on Feb. 27th and that is leaving Vietnam (Hanoi) to Dalian.
We leave the first day of our holiday and get back the weekend before. Need to start preparing bags, budgeting and looking at things to do; prepare apartment for short term vacancy and research into the amazing things I'll hopefully be experiencing :)
Flying with the teacher I went to Hong Kong with and the other teacher that I flew into japan with when I was first coming here.
You can't even understand the excitement I feel because I'm travelling with them. Travel buddy A and myself made that week in Hong Kong nothing short of magical, in ever which way that two stag awesome English speaking guys with limited baggage could :) Travel buddy B and I have experiences travelling here originally and when we hang out we certainly get a few laughs (just a few though :p ) and we see eye to eye most certainly.
A couple other people I wouldn't mind travelling with won't make the trip with us however I'm sure our paths will cross along the journey :) can't wait, hope I won't be broke :s
After starting in Singapore we are heaiding to Malaysia to see what it has to offer and from there who knows but that takes up our first week easily, maybe some side trips while we are there, like how travel buddy A and I went to Macau while we were in HK.
If you know any must do's please get in touch :)
I'll be on this as I progress with more information about the trip, in total the flights to and from this trip came out to around 600$ the flight to Singapore from dalian was 268-ish CAD, the flight from Vietnam is about 350-ish USD? I think...might be CAD.
Don't deal with flight hub -_- jokes, they are so laxidazical with their handling of information and don't honour reservations made if there is a problem with your booking.
When booking with C-trip, you can't book flights from Vietnam to China, you need to deal internally with Vietnamese airlines.
When searching flights on C-trip, remember you get huge points and if you keep jumping pages, the price will go up in the website because it has an automated counter, best is when you see this happen, qoute the original price and call them directly. They are pretty on too of things and take excellent care of their patrons. Their hotel reviews though, fifty-fifty, that some how needs to be screened....learned in HK :p
Oh and I need to look into visas for. Number of places -_- ugh just when I thought I was done with paper work :p
Ciao for now
